William E. Daly of Stoneham, MA (known to those who were close to him as Bill) passed away peacefully at Lahey Hospital in Burlington on Sunday March 6, 2022, following a brief illness. Born November 16, 1941 in Malden, MA, he was the son of the late Daniel Daly and Marcella (Jenney) Daly of Stoneham. Bill is survived by his beloved and devoted wife of over 55 years, Brenda (Kelley). Bill was the proud father of Brian and his wife Maureen (Mello) of Stoneham, Karen Cohen and her husband Jeff of Bothell, WA, Susan Pryputniewicz and her husband Darek of Reading, and Dennis and his wife Christine (Shea) of Billerica. He was the loving Papa to seven cherished grandchildren: Michael Daly, Alyssa and Ryan Pryputniewicz, Jonathan and Andrew Cohen, and Brooke and Reese Daly.
Bill was a graduate of Merrimack College and had a Masters in Education. As an educator, he taught woodworking and mechanical drawing in the Stoneham school system for over 35 years, influencing many students with his passion for building furniture and home renovations. Supporting his kids and grandkids in their sports and activities was important to Bill and you could often find him at soccer games, track meets, basketball games, tennis matches, lacrosse games, swim/diving meets, musicals, plays, and dance recitals. Bill loved hockey, fishing, watching the Bruins/Patriots, carpentry, reading, being outside in his yard, cross word puzzles, Cheez-its, coffee, and spending summers with Brenda at their lake house at Lake Winnipesaukee. He also loved spending time with family, especially his grandkids who brought him joy, laughter and love.
